Overview:

This in-person training provides a review of the common STDs for teachers and other school or community based health educators. The training also includes a review of the new CA education codes related to comprehensive sexual health education requirements, STD/HIV transmission and impact, and minor consent.

Course Objectives:

By the end of this training participants will be able to:

  • Identify what is required regarding mandated comprehensive sexuality education in California.
  • Identify common STDs with a discussion on transmission and risk reduction.
  • Identify the laws that impact minors and their access to confidential sexual health services in California and the different roles of clinical providers and educators.
