Contraceptive Methods

This module provides an overview of how pregnancy happens, how contraception interferes with this process to avoid pregnancy, and reviews the FDA approved contraceptive methods available. Participants will have an opportunity to discuss the current laws in California relevant to contraception access for youth and apply information about contraceptives to different possible scenarios students are facing.

STD Data: US and California

This module provides an overview of current national and California trends for the major reportable STDs and youth sexual behavioral data. Participants will also get a review of common data terminology, learn strategies to search for and interpret local STD data and gain an overall better understanding of why collecting and analyzing STD data is so important.

By the end of this module participants will be able to describe national, California and local STD morbidity rates, trends and disparities.
